Wall Street rallies as Oil prices plunge more Than 7%

Wall Street opened the session firmly higher, with all major U.S. equity indices trading in positive territory. Investor sentiment was further supported by the sharp decline in oil prices, fueling expectations of a more favorable macroeconomic environment and easing inflationary pressures.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the gains, rising 569.31 points, or 1.10%. The S&P 500 advanced 48.38 points, or 0.65%, to 7,460.36, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 168.61 points, or 0.68%, to 25,144.43. The Nasdaq 100 also moved higher, gaining 163.32 points, or 0.58%, to reach 28,291.66.

The opening session confirmed a broad-based upward trend, with buying interest spread across multiple sectors and volatility remaining subdued, signaling an orderly market supported by constructive investor sentiment.

Adding to the positive mood was the sharp decline in crude oil prices. Brent crude fell to around $90 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropped to $83 per barrel, with both benchmarks losing more than 6%. The retreat in oil prices, driven by easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, has reduced concerns over potential supply disruptions and strengthened expectations of softer inflation, supporting demand for risk assets.

Today's rally also builds on an already favorable backdrop for U.S. equities. In recent weeks, Wall Street has been supported by a stronger-than-expected earnings season, with numerous companies reporting results that exceeded analysts' forecasts, reinforcing investor confidence and encouraging further buying.

The macroeconomic backdrop continues to provide additional support for the market. The resilience of the U.S. economy, combined with more encouraging inflation data and solid earnings growth expectations, has kept investors' appetite for risk elevated.

Today's gains therefore reinforce the bullish trend established in previous sessions, during which the Dow Jones reached fresh record highs and the S&P 500 posted one of its strongest weekly performances of the year. The combination of robust corporate earnings, easing geopolitical tensions, and the sharp decline in oil prices continues to be the primary driver of Wall Street's rally.
