The European live music market continues to attract investment from major international players. On October 15, 2026, AEG Presents announced the acquisition of Auguri Productions, a French company specializing in concert production and artist career development. The deal strengthens the US group's position in France and is part of a broader European expansion strategy that has also involved Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands in recent months. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The strategic value of the acquisition extends beyond the roster of artists involved. AEG aims to integrate a company with in-depth knowledge of the French-speaking music market into its international network, creating new opportunities to develop tours, reach audiences abroad and support artists through different stages of their careers.

Auguri productions: the value of artist development

Founded in 1997 by Charles Bensmaine under the name Olympic Tour, Auguri Productions has built its business around concert production and the development of French and French-speaking artists. Over the years, the company has worked with artists such as Stromae, Angèle, Louane, Julien Doré, David Guetta, Vanessa Paradis and Jain, contributing to the growth of careers that have also reached audiences beyond France.

For AEG Presents, the value of the deal also lies in the expertise required to identify emerging talent, help artists build an audience and turn artistic growth into sustainable commercial opportunities. The objective is not simply to organize individual concerts, but to develop professional careers that can translate into tours, increasingly large-scale events and a broader presence in international markets.

According to Arnaud Meersseman, president of AEG Presents France, Auguri's experience will enable the group to strengthen its expertise in artist discovery and development, accelerating a growth process already underway in the French market.

AEG's strategy: building a european network

The acquisition of Auguri is not an isolated move. AEG Presents is expanding its presence across the continent through acquisitions, investments and partnerships with local operators. In September 2026, the group invested in Greenhouse Talent, a company active in concert promotion in Belgium and the Netherlands. In the same month, it launched the operations of AEG Presents Germany, also building on its existing relationship with German promoter MCT Agentur. The model combines AEG's international reach with an understanding of national markets.

France represents an important part of this strategy. AEG Presents is already involved in major festivals such as Rock en Seine and We Love Green, in addition to producing tours and organizing live events. With Auguri, the group is primarily strengthening its artist development segment for French artists, complementing an offering that includes major international tours, concerts by international artists in European markets and festivals.

The goal is to build more direct connections between local talent and international distribution. For an artist, this can mean gaining access to new touring opportunities and reaching markets that would be difficult to explore through an exclusively national operation. For the acquiring group, it means expanding the pool of artists it can work with and strengthening its position across different stages of the live entertainment value chain.

Live music as a growing market

The deal comes amid a sector that continues to generate significant economic activity. According to data from the Centre national de la musique reported by AFP, ticket sales for concerts and music shows in France reached a record €1.6 billion, excluding taxes, in 2024, up 13% from the previous year. The figure was also supported by events associated with the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The result highlights the economic importance of live music, but it should not be interpreted as a guarantee of uniform growth across all operators. The sector requires investment in production, personnel, promotion, venues and logistics, while costs can rise as events and tours become more complex. The ability to plan tours and make effective use of available infrastructure is therefore a key factor in competitiveness.

In this context, control over local expertise can offer a strategic advantage. Knowledge of artists and local markets makes it possible to identify opportunities before they reach an international scale, while the network of a global group can help turn commercial potential into larger-scale events.

Consolidation and new opportunities in live entertainment

The acquisition of Auguri reflects a broader trend towards consolidation in the concert market, where major groups are seeking to strengthen their presence through local operators, festivals and venues. Live Nation is also expanding its activities in France, where it has completed the acquisition of the venue formerly known as Paris La Défense Arena, now Plenitude Arena, following a complex regulatory process.

Competition is no longer just about the number of concerts organized or the capacity of venues. Increasingly important is control over the expertise required to support artists from the early stages of their careers through to international tours. In this respect, Auguri represents an investment for AEG in relationships, experience and development capabilities, as well as an expansion of its geographical footprint. It remains to be seen how the integration will translate into tangible financial results. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

The strategic direction, however, is clear: in the live music market, growth increasingly depends on combining a strong local presence with global reach. With Auguri Productions, AEG Presents is strengthening its position in France and aims to turn its knowledge of French-speaking talent into new commercial opportunities in a sector where artists, tours and access to international audiences are becoming increasingly strategic assets.
