Company overview

Building next-generation free-space optical communication terminals for satellite constellations and ground infrastructure. Its patented receiver exploits the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) of light to multiplex several independent data streams within a single laser beam, and can decode channels by sampling only a localized region of the incoming wavefront — avoiding the need for full wavefront reconstruction.

As radio-frequency spectrum becomes saturated and increasingly vulnerable to interference, SatEnlight's approach introduces an entirely new spatial dimension for scaling optical bandwidth without added spectral or system complexity, targeting both inter-satellite links and downlink communications. The company has already raised more than $1.8M from grants, competitions, accelerators and early investors, and in 2026 became the first Italian startup to win the SATShow Space Competition in Washington, D.C.
