The 2026 FIFA World Cup could generate up to $7 billion in spending as millions of international visitors flock to U.S. host cities.

The United States, co-hosting the World Cup with Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026, is expected to see a massive influx of tourists. Analysts estimate 1 to 6 million foreign visitors, each spending an average of $416 per day over an average stay of 12 days, translating into potential tourism revenue of several billion dollars.

Hotel and rental bookings are already surging, with early estimates showing accommodation prices could rise by 30 to 60 percent during peak match days. Cities hosting teams with large fan bases—such as England, Brazil, France, Argentina, and Portugal could see especially strong local economic gains, benefiting hospitality, retail, and service sectors, and helping the U.S. recover from a 6.3 percent decline in international arrivals in 2025.
