Cristiano Ronaldo, former striker for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, and now a player for the Saudi club Al-Nassr, has set another record – this time not on the field, but in managing his image and sponsorship deals.
According to Bloomberg, Ronaldo has become the first footballer billionaire, with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion.
A significant part of his wealth comes from lucrative endorsement deals with brands such as Armani, Nike, and Castrol. His ten-year contract with Nike brings him nearly $18 million per year, while sponsorship agreements with Armani and Castrol have added around $175 million to his fortune.
Bloomberg’s calculations show that between 2002 and 2023, Ronaldo earned more than $550 million in salary alone. His move to Al-Nassr in 2023 brought him about $230 million per year in wages and bonuses.
In June, Cristiano Ronaldo extended his contract with the Saudi club, which is reportedly worth over $400 million through 2027.
