The Govt is watching the energy crisis closely

The government led by Giorgia Meloni is closely monitoring developments in the international energy landscape, while not speaking of an imminent emergency or, at this stage, planning any extraordinary measures.
At Palazzo Chigi, a cautious approach is being maintained: attention remains high, but there are no signs that would justify urgent interventions. The main concern is the potential impact of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly those related to Iran, on energy markets.
The government is nonetheless working proactively, assessing alternative scenarios and tools to be activated should the situation worsen, especially regarding gas supplies.
At the same time, the Prime Minister’s diplomatic efforts continue, aimed at strengthening relations with producing countries in order to reinforce national energy security.
The official stance therefore remains one of caution: no alarm, but constant vigilance in a rapidly evolving international context.
