Despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10, Israel’s violations of International Law have not stopped. Medical officials reported that on Tuesday, an 11-year-old Palestinian girl was killed and two others were wounded by Israeli fire in eastern Gaza City.
According to Gaza’s Health Minister, more than 400 Palestinians have been killed since the signing of the first phase of the Twenty-Point Plan.
Addittionally, the Israeli government recently announced that it will not renew the operating permits of several major humanitarian organizations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Doctors Without Borders, the Norwegian Refugee Council, CARE, and Oxfam, as of January 1, 2026.
This move will effectively ban these NGOs from operating in Gaza. A spokesperson for Caritas Gerusalemme, however, stated that their organization will continue providing humanitarian aid despite the ban.
Hence, blocking humanitarian assistance constitutes a serious violation of international law and undermines the peace deal signed last October.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that a second phase of the Gaza Peace Plan could be reached “very quickly” during a press conference after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida.
He also noted that reconstruction in Gaza would begin soon, but emphasized that Hamas must disarm as promised, warning, “there will be hell to pay for them if this does not happen.”
The ban on humanitarian organizations, coupled with ongoing violence, raises urgent concerns about the tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza, by emphasizing the ongoing Genocide
