A night of cross-border missile attacks escalated tensions between Israel and Iran, with Tehran reportedly deploying hypersonic missiles for the first time against Israeli targets. In response, the Israeli military urged residents in a Tehran district to evacuate immediately.
"The battle has begun," Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei posted on X, as quoted by Al Jazeera, vowing that the Islamic Republic would "prevail over the Zionist regime" with divine support.
US media report no confirmed attacks on American bases so far, but Washington remains on high alert. Tehran has warned it would target US installations if the United States joins Israel in strikes against Iran.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, after a National Security Council meeting in the Situation Room, is considering a military strike on Iran and urged Khamenei to "surrender."
"Our patience is running out," Trump wrote on Truth Social, demanding Iran’s "unconditional surrender" and warning against attacks on American civilians or troops. He added that he knows "exactly" where Khamenei is hiding but claimed he would not order his assassination "at least for now," while declaring "total control" of Iranian airspace.
