President Donald Trump stated, to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening, March 16th, that phone talks will take place on Tuesday, March 18th, between POTUS and Russia, following positive outcome of last week's meeting between Russian and U.S. officials in Moscow. Discussions will focus on urgent matters such as ending Russia-Ukraine conflict and 30-day ceasefire proposal from White House, which has already been accepted by the Ukrainian government.
Trump expressed confidence about reaching an agreement with Russian President Putin, who, meanwhile, did not reject the U.S. proposal but set some conditions, which Ukrainian President Zelensky has deemed manipulative.
Furthermore, Trump stated that during negotiations between the U.S. and Russian delegations, there was discussion about possible territorial concessions to the Kremlin in order to persuade Putin to accept the ceasefire proposal.
