Anthropic’s revenue increased more than 14-fold in the second quarter from a year earlier, highlighting the rapid growth in demand for generative artificial intelligence and strengthening expectations for further investment in the sector.
The AI company reported preliminary revenue of more than $11.5 billion in the latest quarter, according to documents seen by Bloomberg News. That compares with $787 million in the second quarter of 2025 and $4.73 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
Anthropic also recorded positive adjusted operating income in the second quarter, according to the documents.
The results provided a fresh boost to semiconductor stocks in premarket trading on Monday. Micron Technology gained around 3%, while Broadcom rose about 1% and Nvidia also traded higher, reflecting renewed investor interest in companies exposed to the AI boom.
Anthropic, the company behind the Claude chatbot, is also reportedly preparing for a potential initial public offering. Reuters reported on Friday that the company expects revenue of between $190 billion and $200 billion by 2028, according to two sources familiar with its financial outlook.
The latest revenue figures underscore the rapid pace at which investment in AI infrastructure and applications is growing. Anthropic’s results are an important indicator for investors assessing whether the sector’s high valuations and heavy capital investments can be supported by actual demand and revenue growth.
The company’s strong performance also comes as investors refocus on technology stocks after a volatile July, which was marked by a rotation toward sectors more sensitive to economic growth.
