Submer acquires Radian Arc to expand AI infrastructure reach

Barcelona-based AI infrastructure provider Submer has announced it is acquiring Radian Arc Operations Pty Ltd, an Australian company specializing in GPU-focused edge cloud solutions. The acquisition, confirmed by Submer in a company press release, aims to integrate Radian Arc’s edge computing services with Submer’s InferX platform. The move is intended to enhance global AI infrastructure offerings, particularly for telecommunications operators and enterprises seeking low-latency, high-performance computing solutions.


Integration details highlight AI infrastructure expansion


The acquisition brings together Radian Arc’s carrier-integrated GPU edge compute technology with Submer’s existing InferX AI platform, creating a more complete “full-stack” infrastructure solution. This integration enables organizations to run compute-intensive applications closer to end-users while maintaining centralized management in Submer’s platform.


Radian Arc has a footprint spanning over 70 customers, including telecom operators and enterprises deploying edge services. Its GPU infrastructure supports applications such as cloud gaming and AI workloads that require both high throughput and low latency. Merging these capabilities with Submer’s technology allows the combined company to address a wider set of performance and compliance requirements, including regional data sovereignty.


Executives from both companies highlighted the complementary nature of their technologies. Submer’s CEO, Patrick Smets, stated that the combined platform allows the company to offer a dual-plane compute solution spanning core data centers to edge locations. Radian Arc’s CEO, David Cook, emphasized that joining Submer accelerates deployment capabilities and broadens geographic reach for customers requiring high-performance AI services.

Submer, founded in 2015, originally focused on liquid cooling solutions for high-density data centers, a technology that enhances energy efficiency and thermal management. In recent years, it expanded into AI infrastructure services, reflecting growing demand for platforms capable of handling intensive workloads efficiently.


The InferX platform, introduced by Submer in 2024, marked the company’s strategic entry into AI-focused cloud services. It allows GPU-dense workloads to be processed closer to the network edge, reducing latency and improving performance for time-sensitive applications.


Radian Arc has specialized in embedding GPU compute resources directly into telecom networks, enabling operators to provide real-time services such as AI processing and cloud gaming without significant upfront capital. Its edge-focused approach complements Submer’s centralized and distributed compute strategy, creating a combined offering that spans multiple geographies and use cases.
