Tokio Marine reports stronger December sales at Tokio Marine & Nichido

Tokio Marine Holdings Inc posted higher December sales than a year earlier at its Tokio Marine & Nichido subsidiary, driven mainly by stronger auto and fire insurance divisions.


The Tokyo-based insurance holding company said total TM&N sales for the last month of 2025 rose 11% to JPY261.26 billion, approximately USD1.67 billion, from JPY235.21 billion on-year.


December sales were also higher than the previous month when it totalled to JPY201.73 billion.


Sales were led by the firm's Auto division, which posted a 7.2% rise on-year to JPY113.24 billion, Fire climbed 30% to JPY67.90 billion and, Others, excluding Personal Accidents, were up 3.8% at JPY41.34 billion


Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance sales also grew 6.9% to JPY15.15 billion and sales for Others or Personal Accidents climbed 12% to JPY15.01 billion.


The only division to report a drop was Marine, falling 8.6% to JPY8.57 billion.


Annual cumulative total sales were up 4.5% to JPY2.087 trillion from JPY1.997 trillion the previous year.
