Accenture PLC and NTT Inc subsidiary NTT Docomo on Tuesday teamed up to build infrastructure that supports secure data exchange and verified digital services.

Accenture, a Dublin, Ireland-based information technology firm and Tokyo-based telecommunications company NTT said they will develop the universal wallet infrastructure, a platform that allows organisations to issue, verify and manage digital credentials and tokenised assets.

The companies said UWI is intended to improve interoperability between businesses, governments and other partners by enabling secure, consent‑based data exchange, as demand for such systems is rising with more services adopting artificial intelligence and decentralised technologies.

"By combining our deep experience in technology strategy, data, and AI with NTT Docomo Global's proven strengths in network infrastructure operations and advanced internet technologies, we're creating a foundation for growth and innovation that drives business success through enhanced customer trust. This collaboration paves the way for new AI-powered experiences that revolutionise how businesses and customers connect," said Atsushi Egawa, Accenture Japan chair, and co-chief executive officer of Accenture Asia-Pacific.

NTT Docomo CEO Hiroki Kuriyama added: "We are creating a new social infrastructure built on the core values of trust and interoperability. Through this collaboration, we are accelerating the global rollout of universal wallet infrastructure to establish a new foundation of digital trust worldwide."
