Toyota Motor Corp on Friday announced plans to introduce three models produced in the US to the Japanese market starting in 2026.
The Aichi, Japan-based automotive manufacturer said the lineup will include the Camry sedan, Highlander sport utility vehicle and Tundra pickup truck, all manufactured at Toyota facilities in Kentucky, Indiana and Texas.
Toyota said the move will broaden customer choice in Japan and support stronger trade ties between Japan and the US.
The Camry and Highlander, previously sold domestically as the Kluger, will return to the market, while the Tundra will debut in Japan for the first time.
Toyota is preparing for the launch under a new system being considered by Japan's transport ministry following bilateral negotiations.
