Oracle Corp and Google LLC on Monday announced the launch of Oracle 'multicloud' database service in India.

Multicloud means using two or more cloud computing providers to run applications.

The Austin, Texas-based computer technology company and Google Cloud said they are now offering Oracle Database at Google Cloud to customers in India, giving them a way to run Oracle's high performance Exadata service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure inside the Mumbai Google Cloud region.

According to Oracle, this will allow customers to procure solutions through their trusted partners, simplifying contracts and allowing them to leverage existing Google Cloud commitments for a seamless purchasing experience.

The service is designed to help businesses combine their Oracle databases with Google Cloud's artificial intelligence and analytics tools, including Gemini models and Vertex AI, to drive smarter decisions and deeper insights.

"As enterprises in India increasingly adopt multicloud strategies, Oracle Database@Google Cloud provides the flexibility, performance, scale, and security they need. Customers in India can now integrate Oracle AI Database capabilities with Google Cloud's AI and analytics tools and services to build new AI applications and innovate with speed and confidence," said Shailender Kuma, senior vice president and regional managing director, Oracle India.

Sashi Sreedharan, managing director at Google Cloud Inda, added: "This launch empowers our customers to accelerate their on-premises migrations and modernise their applications to build the next generation of agentic AI solutions."
