Costco Wholesale Corp on Wednesday reported strong sales growth in the October retail month, with revenue higher across all regions.
The Issaquah, Washington-based big box retailer said net sales increased 8.6% to USD21.75 billion in the retail month of October, the four weeks ended November 2, up from USD20.03 billion last year.
Total company comparable sales grew 6.6% in the retail month, with US sales up 6.6%, Canada sales up 6.3%, and Other International up 7.2%. Digital sales jumped 17%.
"Last year’s total and comparable sales were negatively affected by a little more than one percent in the US and slightly less than one percent worldwide due to pull forward activity associated with Hurricane Helene and port strikes in September," Costco explained.
Excluding the impacts from petrol and foreign exchange, total company comparable sales increased by 6.8%, with growth of 6.7% in the US, 8.8% in Canada, and 5.1% in Other International. Digital sales jumped 17%.
