Hitachi and OpenAI partner to expand global AI data centres

Hitachi signed a memorandum of understanding with San Francisco, California-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, establishing a partnership that will build next-generation AI infrastructure and expand global data centres.
The partnership will focus on sustainable data centre operations, modular design, and accelerated AI deployment.
It also includes deeper integration of OpenAI's large language models into Hitachi's Lumada solutions, to enhance digital capabilities and address societal challenges.
Hitachi Chief Executive Officer Toshiaki Tokunaga says: "Through this strategic partnership, we aim to deliver the full capabilities of One Hitachi to support OpenAI's groundbreaking technologies, working together toward the realisation of a harmonised society."
OpenAI Japan President Tadao Nagasaki says: "By combining the strengths of both organisations, we will co-create innovative solutions that address global challenges."
