BNP Paribas SA on Thursday announced a partnership with Stellantis NV to support the used car market with an extended range of insurance products and services for dealers and buyers.
BNP, a Paris-based bank, said its Icare subsidiary has signed a partnership agreement with Stellantis Financial Services, a subsidiary of the Hoofddorp, Netherlands-based vehicle manufacturer.
Icare provides expertise in warranty extension and automotive maintenance contracts, while the Spoticar label from Stellantis offers a range of warranties and services for used vehicles.
"This partnership covers an extended range of insurance products and services for the benefit of dealers and buyers of used vehicles," BNP explained. "The agreement includes specific warranties for used cars, such as warranty extensions, maintenance contracts, and dealer guarantees. Dedicated offers for electric vehicles with battery coverage are also planned."
Dealers and customers will have access to a claim reporting and management platform, alongside additional digital tools such as online training modules, sales support, and a partner portal to assist with reselling vehicles.
"Technical and commercial support will also be provided on the ground to help with integration and performance monitoring," BNP added.
The partnership is scheduled to launch initially in France in early 2026.
