Alphabet Inc company YouTube has agreed to pay USD22 million to settle a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump after it suspended his account over the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, according to a court document released Monday.
The online video platform, a Google subsidiary, is the latest technology firm to settle with Trump after he went to court in July 2021 over his suspension.
Alphabet class A shares closed down 1.0% at USD244.05 in New York on Monday before rising 0.2% after hours, while class C shares ended 1.1% lower at USD244.36 before rising 0.1% after hours.
