PayPal Holdings Inc on Wednesday announced a new strategic partnership with Alphabet Inc's Google focused on advancing several commerce solutions.
PayPal, a San Jose, California-based financial transaction processing services company, and the Mountain View, California-based technology conglomerate's Google subsidiary, will develop the commerce solutions over multiple years.
"The collaboration will deliver innovative solutions that transform how businesses and consumers transact across platforms and devices. Combining their expertise and scale, the companies aim to deliver frictionless digital commerce experiences and set a new standard for commerce ecosystem innovation," PayPal said.
Together, the two firms will collaborate to create a new artificial intelligence shopping experience that will combine PayPal's global payment infrastructure, data-driven personalisation and identity solutions with Google's AI expertise.
PayPal's payment solutions, such as Hyperwallet and PayPal Payouts, will be embedded across Google's platforms, while PayPal Enterprise Payments will be one of the key payment providers processing card payments across products including Google Cloud, Google Ads, and Google Play.
"PayPal will partner with Google Cloud to reimagine its technology foundations, applications, and infrastructure to power PayPal's next-generation commerce and payments platform," PayPal added.
