U.S. equities closed slightly higher as investors brace for a crucial week of earnings from tech heavyweights Alphabet and Tesla, while monitoring ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and the European Union. Optimism grew after U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick expressed confidence in reaching a deal before new tariffs take effect on August 1.

Ahead of the bell, Verizon raised its full-year profit guidance, and Domino’s Pizza beat estimates on U.S. same-store sales in Q2. At the close, the Dow Jones gained 0.12%, the S&P 500 rose 0.28% to 6,312 points, the Nasdaq 100 added 0.35%, and the S&P 100 advanced 0.29%.
