Wall Street mixed as Dow rises, Nasdaq falls

Wall Street closed on a mixed note, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.91% to 44,494.94 points, while the Nasdaq 100 slipped 0.89%, ending the session at 22,478.13 points.



In Asia, Tokyo edged lower by 0.56%, closing at 39,762.5 points, while Shenzhen also declined 0.61% to 10,412.3 points, as markets reacted cautiously to ongoing trade tensions and economic signals from the U.S.



In Europe, stock markets opened slightly higher, with most major indices hovering above the flatline. Frankfurt remained virtually unchanged, while London ticked up 0.22% and Paris posted a modest gain of 0.34%.



Milan’s FTSE MIB saw slight gains, supported by a strong performance in the technology sector, which rose 1.49%. Among the best performers was ITway, jumping 2.87% in intraday trading.



Investors are now eyeing key macroeconomic data due later today. Both Italy and the EU are set to release updated unemployment figures, while the U.S. will report ADP employment data and crude oil inventories in the afternoon, offering further signals on the health of the global economy.
