Business confidence in Germany improved significantly in March, reaching 86.7 points, compared to 85.3 in February, exceeding the estimates that had predicted it would be 86.8 points, according to the report published today by the Ifo Institute.
According to Clement Fuest, president of Ifo, German companies appear to be more satisfied, and the current environment seems positive across all sectors: industry, services, trade, and construction.
The business confidence index in Germany is calculated each month by asking around 9,000 German companies to assess their expectations, taking into account the financial outlook for the next six months. The rise in business confidence is particularly significant for the German economy, which is currently recovering from a period of stagnation.
