Traders were focused on key inflation data to assess the outlook for monetary policy, particularly from the Federal Reserve. UK inflation unexpectedly fell to 2.5% in December, while the much-anticipated US CPI report was set for release later in the day. Meanwhile, the recent spike in bond yields temporarily halted, offering some relief to markets.
