easyJet hails record summer as annual profit and sales soar

easyJet reported a 39% rise in annual pretax profit, reaching GBP602 million for the year ending September 30, driven by higher capacity, rising prices, and growth in its package holidays business. Revenue increased 14% to GBP9.31 billion, with a 8.4% rise in capacity to 100.4 million seats.

In Q4, revenue grew 9.3% to GBP3.41 billion, and headline pretax profit climbed 9.2% to GBP724 million. Passenger revenue increased by 9.6%, while ancillary revenue rose 22%. Holiday revenue surged 47% to GBP1.14 billion.

CEO hails strong results

Fuel costs rose 9.4% to GBP2.22 billion. CEO Johan Lundgren attributed the strong performance to strategy execution and growing demand for flights and holidays. His successor, CFO Kenton Jarvis, highlighted capacity growth and cost discipline. easyJet announced a 12.1p per share dividend and projected a 3% increase in capacity for the upcoming year. The company also expects a significant improvement in Q1, with easyJet Holidays projected to grow 25%.
