The agreement includes 62 H145Ms with an option for 20 more, valued at up to €2.7 billion, according to AFP. The package also covers seven years of support and maintenance services. The initial helicopter will be stationed at the Buckeburg base for training purposes, with the first combat-ready unit slated for delivery in 2025. The H145M, a military adaptation of Airbus’ H145 light twin-engine helicopter, is equipped with the HForce weapons management system, enabling multi-role operations.

Executive comment

“We remain a reliable partner of the German Bundeswehr. Delivering the first H145M [light combat helicopter] in less than a year after the contract signature demonstrates our commitment,” said Stefan Thome, managing director of Airbus Helicopters in Germany. “The H145M LKH will be a true multi-mission asset for the German Armed Forces, supporting their crucial missions.”
