The Swiss franc was stable at CHF0.85 against the dollar on Tuesday, after Swiss inflation in recent data slowed to 0.8%, below market expectations of 1.1%.

The weaker CPI data boosted expectations among dovish policymakers who are pushing for a 50 basis point rate cut by the Swiss National Bank at its next meeting in December.

Earlier, the SNB had already cut its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points for the third time in a row.

At the same time, the US dollar strengthened, hitting a new three-week high, as solid US private employment data supported the view that the Federal Reserve may not need to implement aggressive rate cuts.
