The ZEW index measuring investor expectations in Germany fell to 58.3 points in February, down from 59.6 in January, disappointing economists’ expectations, which had pointed to an increase to 65.2. Estimates collected ranged between 58.0 and 77.4. More encouraging signals came instead from the current conditions front: the index rose to -65.9 points from -72.7 the previous month, in line with forecasts. In the euro area, the investor expectations index stood at 39.4 points in February.
