Japan revises November industrial production figures downward

Japan's industrial production in November fell more than initially estimated, revised figures from the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry showed Monday.


Industrial production in Japan fell 2.7% month-on-month in November from a 1.5% increase in October, with the decline accelerating from the preliminary November reading of minus 2.6%.


Industrial production was down 2.2% year-on-year in November from a 1.6% increase in October. Again, November's drop accelerated from the preliminary figure of minus 2.1%.


Furthermore, METI said production capacity fell 0.2% in November from October, with capacity down 1.7% compared to the previous year.
