The balance came to a JPY322.23 billion surplus in November, approximately USD2.08 billion, from a deficit of JPY120.81 billion in the same month a year earlier.

It also swung month-on-month from JPY231.77 billion deficit in October, surpassing the FXStreet consensus forecast of a JPY71.2 billion surplus.

Imports rose 1.3% year-on-year in November, below the 2.5% growth that was forecast, while exports grew 6.1%, ahead of the expected 4.8% rise.
