Stellantis will close 2025 having spent over €7 billion on Italian suppliers, exceeding its planned target of €6 billion, CEO Antonio Filosa said, as the company aims to boost domestic production next year.
The automaker also invested €2 billion in Italy this year, supporting local systems, components, and services, despite the country’s car output having fallen below 500,000 units in 2024, the lowest in nearly seven decades. Filosa described the spending as a “first step” toward reviving local development and supplier volumes.
Looking ahead, Stellantis warned that growth and competitiveness will be shaped by the European Union’s review of carbon-emission rules, with a key decision due on December 16. The company supports exemptions for plug-in hybrids and efficient combustion engines to maintain flexibility amid slow electric-vehicle adoption and growing competition from China.
