Italy retail sales back to monthly growth in October

Italy retail turnover increased both on a monthly and an annual basis in October, figures from national statistics office Istat showed on Friday.


Italy retail sales increased by 0.5% month-over-month in October after declining by 0.4% in September, which was revised up from the initial estimate of a 0.5% decline.


Year-over-year, retail sales rose by 1.3% in October after increasing by 0.7% in the previous month. The September figure was revised up from the initial estimate of a 0.5% rise.


Istat said food sales increased in October by 0.5% month-over-month and by 2.3% year-over-year, while non-food sales rose by 0.4% monthly and by 0.5% annually.
