Spain consumer price inflation eases in November but tops forecast

Spanish consumer price inflation cooled in November, but topped the market forecast, numbers on Friday showed.
INE said consumer prices rose 3.0% annually in November, easing from a 3.1% rise in October. Nonetheless, the reading was loftier than expected, as a deeper slowdown to 2.9% had been forecast according to consensus cited by FXStreet.
On-month, consumer prices rose 0.2% in November, easing from a 0.7% rise in October from September.
On a harmonised basis, allowing for EU-wide comparison, consumer prices advanced 3.1% on-year in November, cooling from 3.2% in October. On-month, prices were steady in November from October. They had risen 0.5% in October from September.
