Economic growth in Italy accelerated in the third quarter, a second estimate from the national statistics office Istat showed on Friday, beating the preliminary estimate.

Gross domestic product increased by 0.1% on a quarterly basis in the third quarter, compared to the no change reported by Istat at the end of October. GDP had declined by 0.2% in the second quarter from the first quarter.

Year-over-year, the third quarter's 0.6% increase followed a 0.4% gain in the second quarter of 2025 and beat Istat's preliminary estimate of a 0.4% annual increase.

For the whole of 2025, Istat forecasts growth of 0.5% for the Italian economy.
