Italy annual consumer price inflation rate steady at 1.2% in November

Italy's annual consumer price inflation rate remained unchanged in November, while a monthly decrease in prices slowed from October, preliminary figures from national statistics office Istat showed on Friday.
Italian consumer prices increased by 1.2% in November on an annual basis, the same pace of growth recorded in October.
Month-over-month, prices decreased by 0.2% in November, following a 0.3% fall in October from September. Market expectations, cited by FXStreet, estimated a smaller decrease of 0.1%.
The annual core inflation rate, which excludes energy, alcohol, tobacco and food prices, slowed to 1.8% in November from 1.9% in the prior month.
Harmonised consumer prices, which allow a comparison at EU-level, decreased by 0.2% on a monthly basis in November, following a similar dip in October, and increased by 1.1% on an annual basis, slowing from the 1.3% rise in the prior month.
