Japan machinery orders climb in September as factory demand rebounds

Machinery orders in Japan continued to rise in September, with core and manufacturing demand rebounding, Cabinet Office data showed Wednesday.
The total value of machinery orders received by 280 manufacturers operating in Japan rose 3.9% month-on-month in September, down from a 7.3% increase in August.
Core private sector machinery orders that exclude volatile items climbed 4.2% in September, reversing a 0.9% decline in August, and way ahead of FXStreet-cited consensus forecast of 2.5%.
Manufacturing machinery orders also jumped 23% in September, contrasting with August's 2.4% decline.
