Siemens Healthineers is considering selling or spinning off its diagnostics division by 2030, CEO Bernd Montag said, as the company reshapes its business and focuses on growth in other areas.

The German medical technology firm plans annual revenue growth of 6–9% from its Imaging and Precision Therapy divisions through 2030, while the diagnostics unit is expected to achieve mid-single-digit growth. Siemens Healthineers also expects to offset $464 million in annual U.S. tariffs by 2028 through improved productivity and higher pricing.

Parent company Siemens AG is reducing its stake in Healthineers from 67% to 37% or lower, with potential further reductions to below 20% in the medium term. The move aligns with Siemens’ strategic focus on trains and automation technology for factories and buildings, while Healthineers explores options to optimize its diagnostics business.
