German annual CPI inflation rate confirmed at 2.3% in October


Germany's consumer price index inflation rate was confirmed on Wednesday, while the increase in wholesale prices slowed annually but accelerated monthly in October.


Germany's annual CPI rate fell to 2.3% in October from 2.4% in September, with the harmonised rate the same for both months.


Monthly, consumer prices were up 0.3% in October, accelerating from 0.2% in September, both figures in line with the harmonised data.


All CPI data confirmed the preliminary data published on October 30.


Separately, the statistical office reported that wholesale prices rose 1.1% annually in October, decelerating from September's 1.2% increase.


Monthly, German wholesale prices were up 0.3% in October, sped up from 0.2% in September.
