According to a preliminary estimate, the Italian gross domestic product remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter for the three months to September 2025, holding the 0.1% contraction from the second quarter and contracting with expectations of a 0.1% rebound.

Value added contracted for the industrial sector and stalled for services, underscoring the impact of uncertain trade with the US, and offsetting the slight increase for agriculture, forestry, and fishing.

With the fresh results, Italy is on track for an annualized growth rate of 0.5% in the year, maintaining the pace of growth from 2024 and slightly below the latest projections by the Bank of Italy. From the previous year, the Italian GDP expanded by 0.4% in the third quarter.
