From January to September 2025, a total of 265,490 vehicles were produced, marking a further deterioration in Stellantis manufacturing output. This represents a 31.5% decrease compared to the same period the previous year. Breaking it down further: passenger car production fell by 36.3%, while commercial vehicles dropped by 23.9%.
According to the Italian Metalworkers Federation (FIM), affiliated with CISL, all Stellantis plants in Italy have seen a contraction, with declines ranging from -17% to -65%. These figures offer little hope for a positive outcome by the end of 2025.
FIM-CISL emphasizes that total production will likely reach just above 310,000 units for the year, and that around 50% of the multinational’s Italian workforce is currently affected by social safety nets. For this reason, the union considers the meeting with CEO Antonio Filosa—scheduled to take place in Turin on October 20, 2025—crucial. To safeguard jobs and the productivity of the Italian plants, new industrial strategies will be necessary.
