Italy jobless rate remains unchanged at 6.0% in August

Italy unemployment rate remained stable as expected in August, while the youth jobless rate increased, figures from national statistics office Istat showed on Thursday.

Italy unemployment rate stood at 6.0% in August, unchanged from July and in line with market estimates, as cited by FXStreet.

The youth unemployment rate, however, rose to 19.3% in August from 18.7% in the prior month.

Istat said the employment rate edged down to 62.6% from 62.8% in July.
