Swiss business mood improves in September

The KOF Economic Barometer in Switzerland rose to 98 in September 2025, from a downwardly revised 96.2 in August and beating market expectations of 97.3.

On the production side, indicators for manufacturing and for financial and insurance services pointed to an improved outlook.

Within the producing sector (manufacturing and construction), sub-indicators for exports and the general business climate showed particularly positive developments.

In manufacturing, the wood, glass, stone and earth segment, along with paper and printing products, and the electrical sector, recorded marked improvements.

On the demand side, however, indicators for foreign demand weakened, while prospects for private consumption remained unchanged.
