US goods trade deficit slims in August as imports decline

The US goods trade deficit narrowed in August, numbers on Thursday showed.
According to the Census Bureau, the trade deficit slimmed to USD85.8 billion last month from USD102.8 billion in July.
Exports shrunk by USD2.3 billion on-month to USD176.1 billion. Imports fell at a faster pace of USD19.6 billion to USD261.6 billion.
