Italy’s industrial production posted modest gains in June, signaling a slight rebound in the sector. On a month-on-month basis, output rose by 0.2%, reversing the previous decline of 0.8% and outperforming market expectations of a 0.1% drop.

Year-on-year, industrial production contracted by 0.9%, a marginal improvement from May’s 1% decline, suggesting that while the sector remains in negative territory, the pace of contraction is easing.

The data points to a gradual stabilization in Italy’s manufacturing and industrial activity, despite ongoing challenges in both domestic and international markets. Analysts note that sustained improvements in the coming months will be key to confirming a genuine turnaround.
