Somec Group, a specialist in turnkey engineered systems for civil and naval architecture, has expanded existing commercial agreements worth over €57 million for its Horizons division. The contracts involve the supply of advanced architectural systems for three cruise ships.
The new orders build on previous agreements with a leading Finnish shipyard, initially announced on December 20, 2024, and January 31, 2025. One previously optional order has now been confirmed, a new vessel has been added, and another option has been finalized.
The scope of the deal includes the turnkey supply of full balcony systems, a new motorized vertical opening system for the Infinity Cabins, and glazing and window systems for the upper bow decks. Deliveries will take place between 2028 and 2030, with the financial impact expected between 2026 and 2030.
Oscar Marchetto, Chairman of Somec, commented:
“With the confirmation of these nearly €60 million projects—on top of recent €110 million orders—Somec companies reaffirm their leadership in the cruise ship construction sector. These results highlight the competitiveness of Horizons’ solutions, developed over more than 30 years of expertise.”
Marchetto also noted that the strong momentum in the cruise industry continues, driven by significant investment from shipowners, and that Somec’s success reflects its engineering quality, product innovation, and project management reliability.
