France’s trade deficit narrows slightly in May

France recorded a trade deficit of €7.8 billion in May 2025, a slight improvement from the €8 billion shortfall in April, but slightly worse than analysts' expectations of €7.7 billion. The data was released by the French Customs Office.
Exports declined to €48.9 billion from €49.1 billion the previous month, while imports remained stable at €56.7 billion.
