Unemployment decline slows in Spain in June


The decline in unemployment in Spain slowed in June. According to data released by the Spanish Ministry of Labour, the number of unemployed fell by approximately 48,920 on a monthly basis — a decrease smaller than the 57,800 recorded in May. Analysts had forecast a drop of around 69,500. Compared to the same month last year, the number of unemployed fell by 155,104, equivalent to a 6.06% decrease. The total number of unemployed stood at 2,405,963, the lowest level since 2008. Youth unemployment dropped to 166,707, marking the lowest level ever recorded since historical data began.
