Everything is set for the 2025 Sintra Forum, the annual event organized by the European Central Bank (ECB) in the Portuguese city, taking place from today, Monday, June 30, to Wednesday, July 2.
This year’s theme is “Adapting to Change: Macroeconomic Shifts and Policy Responses.” As in previous editions, the forum will host several central bank governors — including Fabio Panetta from the Bank of Italy — as well as academics, journalists, and prominent figures from the worlds of economics and finance.
The event provides an opportunity to take stock of the Eurozone’s economic situation, which in the first half of the year has faced turbulent developments, from the risks of potential Trump-era tariffs to ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Of particular interest will be the speech by ECB President Christine Lagarde, which could offer insights into the possibility of further interest rate cuts, given the continued decline in EU inflation.
The event will also be available via livestream on the ECB’s official website.
