Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet has been named “Best CEO” in the European insurance sector for the fourth consecutive year, according to the 2025 edition of the Extel (formerly Institutional Investor) annual rankings.
The recognition reflects strong combined feedback from both buy-side and sell-side analysts across several key categories. Generali’s Group CFO, Cristiano Borean, also retained the top spot as “Best CFO” in the insurance sector.
The company’s Investor & Rating Agency Relations team secured first place in multiple categories, including “Best IR Team”, “Best IR Professional” (awarded to Fabio Cleva, Group Head of Investor & Rating Agency Relations), “Best IR Program” and “Best Investor/Analyst Day”. Generali also ranked first for “Best ESG Program”.
“We are very proud that the financial community has once again recognised the outstanding professionalism and dedication of our people,” Donnet said. “I warmly congratulate all our colleagues and teams who have been recognised. This year’s results are especially significant as they highlight the fantastic work behind our new strategic plan, Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence. While we remain fully focused on achieving excellence in customer relationships, our operating model and core capabilities, these important accolades motivate us even further to reach our ambitious goals.”
