Eurozone trade surplus narrows more than expected in April

The Eurozone’s trade surplus slowed sharply in April, coming in at €9.9 billion, down from €36.8 billion in March and well below analysts’ expectations of €18.2 billion, according to Eurostat.
Exports totalled €243 billion, marking a 1.4% year-on-year decline, while imports edged up by 0.1% to €233.1 billion.
Intra-euro area trade reached €226 billion, up 1.7% compared to March 2024.
